SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region, rain or thundershower have been isolated in Magway Region, Northern Shan and Kayah States, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region, fairly widespread in Mandalay and Bago Regions, (Eastern and Southern)Shan and Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Yangon Region, Rakhine and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Naypyitaw and Taninthayi Region. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Yay (8.03)inches, Yangon(Northern Dagon) (6.10)inches, Khayan (5.51)inches, Gwa (5.31)inches, Kyeikkhame and Chaungsone (5.08)inches each, Mawlamyine (4.52)inches, Thaton (4.41)inches, Mudon (4.33)inches, Launglone (4.06)inches, Paung (3.90)inches, Kyaukpyu (3.11) inches, Hpa-an (2.99)inches, Dawei (2.87)inches, Maubin (2.64)inches, Hmawbi (2.52)inches, Kawkayeit (2.48)inches, Kangyangon (2.24)inches and Naypyitaw (Zabuthiri) (2.13)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 13th August, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Kachin, Shan and Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls in Rakhine and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kayin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough sea are likely at time off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Shan, Kayin and Mon States.
