SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the
past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region, rain
or thundershower have been isolated in Mandalay Region, scattered in Magway
and Bago Regions, (Eastern and Southern) Shan and Kayah States, fairly
widespread in Northern Shan and Chin States and widespread in the remaining
Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Yangon Region, isolated heavy
falls Ayeyarwady Region and Rakhine State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall
recorded were Sittwe (7.95) inches, Hainggyikyun (3.42) inches, Yangon (North
Dagon) (3.35)inches, Central Yangon (3.03)inches, Kyaukpyu (2.87) inches,
Hlegu and Yay (2.80)inches each, Maungdaw (2.76)inches, Lashio and
Phyarpon (2.71)inches each, Kyeikkhame (2.60)inches and Manaung (2.40)
inches.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and
Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 8th August, 2016: Rain or
thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in
Mandalay and Magway Regions, (Eastern and Southern) Shan and Kayah
States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago Region, Nothern Shan State
and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated
heavy falls in Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine State. Degree of
certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times
off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35)
m.p.h.
