23-12-2024: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Westcentral Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West-Southwestwards and reach to Southwest Bay of Bengal(North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts)India during 24-12-2024. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and North Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region, rain or thundershower have been scattered in Mandalay Region, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Magway and Bago Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Bago Region, Rakhine and Mon States, isolated heavy falls in Ayeyarwady Region, Kachin and Kayin States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Nyaunglaybin (7.91)inches, Hainggyikyun (5.04)inches, Maungdaw (4.96)inches, Putao (4.65)inches, Belin (3.86)inches, Thaton (3.67)inches, Kyaukpyu (3.54)inches, Gwa and Shwegyin (3.47)inches each, Madauk (3.43)inches, Thipaw (2.91)inches, Hlaingbwe (2.68) inches, Yangon (Northern Dagon) (2.52)inches, Thandwe (2.25)inches, Sittwe and Manaung (2.05) inches each and Ann (2.00)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 7th August, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Magway Region, Shan and Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Kayin and Mon States.
