22-12-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Westcentral Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West-Southwestwards and reach to Southwest Bay of Bengal(North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts)India during 24-12-2024. Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal partly and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kayah State, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and Mon State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay and Yangon Regions, Kachin and (Eastern and Northern) Shan States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing Region. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Hkamti (5.39) inches, Moekok (2.36)inches, Myitkyina (1.66)inches, Phyarpon (1.06)inches, Aunglan (0.67)inch and Lashio (0.59)inch.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 20th July, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Yangon Region, Shan, Chin, Kayin and Mon States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of decrease of rain in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States.
