22-12-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Westcentral Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West-Southwestwards and reach to Southwest Bay of Bengal(North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts)India during 24-12-2024. Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal partly and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Mandalay and Magway Regions, Northern Shan and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Naypyitaw, Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine State and isolated heavy falls in Mandalay Region, Kachin and Mon States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Thandwe (7.75)inches, Madauk (5.08)inches, Putao (4.73)inches, Nyaunglaybin and Hainggyikyun (4.53)inches each, Shwegyin (4.09)inches, Maungdaw (3.94)inches, Gwa (3.66)inches, Theinzayet (3.23)inches, Ngathaichaung (3.07)inches, Taungkok (2.95)inches, Belin (2.91)inches, Kyauktaw (2.80)inches, Nyaungtone (2.78)inches and Paletwa (2.76)inches. 

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 8th July, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Shan and Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls in Bago and Taninthayi Regions, Mon State and isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, Rakhine and Kayin States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough sea will be experienced in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon –Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of strong monsoon over the Andaman Sea andSouth Bay of Bengal.
