22-12-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Westcentral Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West-Southwestwards and reach to Southwest Bay of Bengal(North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts)India during 24-12-2024. Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal partly and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing Region and Northern Shan State, scattered in Mandalay, Magway and Taninthayi Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin and Southern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Upper Sagaing Region and Rakhine State and isolated heavy falls in Mandalay Region and Chin State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Kyauktaw (9.09)inches, Maungdaw (8.46) inches, Hkamti (7.48)inches, Ann (7.44)inches, Taungkok (4.92)inches, Myauk U (4.80)inches, Homalin (4.33)inches, Paletwa (4.25)inches, Thandwe (3.19)inches and Bago (2.87) inches. 

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 5th July, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway and Taninthayi Regions, Nothern Shan and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, (Eastern and Southern)Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls in Rakhine State and isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin and Chin States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Seas will be slight to moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin, Chin and Rakhine States.
