SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Taninthayi Region and Mon State, fairly widespread in Bago, Yangon and Ayayearwady Regions, scattered in Kachin, Shan, Rakhine and Kayin States, isolated in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing and Mandalay Regoins and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Coco Island (2.84)inches, Hkamti and Myeik (2.80)inches each, Ann and Kawthong (2.48)inches each, Machanbaw (2.13)inches, Putao (1.77) inches and Hinthada (1.49)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over westcentral Bay and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal has moved Odisha Coast. Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 30th June, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region, Kachin, Kayin and Mon States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, scattered in Shan, Chin, Rakhine and Kayah States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Taninthayi Region. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35 - 40) m.p.h.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State.
