SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Naypyitaw, Eastern Shan and Kayah States, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Northern Shan State, scattered in Mandalay and Magway Regions, Southern Shan and Kayin States, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing Region, Kachin, Chin, Rakhine and Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Taninthayi Region and Kachin State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Machanbaw (7.60)inches, Kawthong (3.03)inches, Khayan and Ngathaichaung (2.25)inches each, Phyarpon (2.20)inches, Myeik (1.77) inches, Pathein (1.33)inches, Putao and Dawei (1.30)inches, Zaung Tu and Myaungmya (1.10)inches each.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over West Central Bay and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal still persists. Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 29th June, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, Kayah State, scattered in Mandalay Region and Shan State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35 - 40) m.p.h.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States.
