27-11-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northwestwards. It is centered at about 730 Nautical miles West-Southwest of CoCo Island (Myanmar), 270 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Chennai (India). The centre pressure of Deep Depression is 1001 hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is 35 miles per hour.Weather is partly cloudy over the North Bay of Bengal and cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 25th June, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region, Kachin, Kayin and Mon States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Southern Shan and Chin States, scattered in  Mandalay Region, (Northern and Eastern) Shan, Rakhine and Kayah States, isolated in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Taninthayi Region and Mon State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Mon- Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) m.p.h. Seas will be moderate in elsewhere Myanmar waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States.
