SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Eastern Shan and Kayah States, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Taninthayi Region and Kachin State, fairly widespread in Nay Pyi Taw, Sourthern Shan, Chin, Kayin and Mon States, scattered in Mandalay, Bago and Yangon Regions, isolated in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Taninthayi Region. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Myeik (4.17)inches, Manaung (1.89)inches, Kawthong (1.69)inches, Taunggu (1.62)inches, Pinlaung (1.57)inches and Launglone (1.14) inches.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 25th June, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region, Kachin, Kayin and Mon States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Southern Shan and Chin States, scattered in Mandalay Region, (Northern and Eastern) Shan, Rakhine and Kayah States, isolated in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Taninthayi Region and Mon State. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Mon- Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) m.p.h. Seas will be moderate in elsewhere Myanmar waters.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States.
