SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kayah State, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, scattered in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago and Yagon Regions, Rakhine State, fairly widespread in Ayeyarwady Region, Shan and Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Longlone (2.64)inches, Thabeikkyin and Heho (2.28)inches each, Kawthoung (2.13)inches, Myeik (2.05)inches and Mindat (1.93.)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observation at (12:30) hrs MST today, the low pressure area over West Central Bay and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal still persists. Monsoon is weak to moderate in the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at (12:30)hrs MST today, the tropical strom “Vamco” which has crossed Southern Vietnam Coasts, has downgraded into the land depression and is moving Westwards.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 16th September, 2015: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Kayah State, fairly widespread in Sagaing and Bago Regions, Kachin, Shan, Chin and Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough sea are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35 - 40) m.p.h.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States.
