SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Shan State, scattered in Kachin and Rakhine States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Bago and Yangon Regions, Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Mon State, isolated heavy falls in Taninthayi Region, Rakhine and Kayin States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Paung (5.39)inches, Mawlamyine (4.21)inches, Belin (4.02)inches, Launglone (3.39)inches, Kyainseikkyi (3.22)inches, Thandwe (3.11)inches, Kyeikmayaw (2.83)inches and Mudon (2.05)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate in the North Bay and strong in the Andaman Sea and elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 26th August, 2015: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, scattered in Kachin and Shan States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy fall in Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon State. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough sea are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon – Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of increase of rain in the Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States.
