23-11-2024: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area has formed over East Equatorial India Ocean and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and may further intensify into a depression over South Bay of Bengal around 25-11-2024. Thereafter, its likely to move Northwestwards and may reach to Tamil Nadu(India)-Sri Lanka coasts during next 2 days. Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours,  rain or thundershowers have been isolated in  Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, scattered in Magway and Bago Regions, Mon State, fairly widespread in Mandalay and Taninthayi  Regions, Shan, Rakhine and Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Mandalay Region and Rakhine State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Kyauktaw (3.39)inches, Kyaukmae (2.64)inches, Nay Pyi Taw (Zabuthiri) (2.40)inches, Hkamti (2.09)inches and Moekok  (1.93)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observation at (15:30) hrs MST yesterday, the low pressure area over Northwest Bay of Bengal has moved to the West Bengal (India). Monsoon is moderate to strong in the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere in Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 11th July, 2015: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin and Chin states, fairly widespread in Shan, Rakhine and Mon States and scattered in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing Region. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough sea are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon - Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35- 40) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in the Southern Myanmar areas.
