SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, scattered in Upper Sagaing and Magway Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Mandalay Region and Mon State and isolated heavy falls in Taninthayi Region, Kachin, Chin, Rakhine and Kayin States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Paung (8.23)inches, Chaungsone (6.77)inches, Gwa (6.46)inches, Shan-Ywar-Thit (6.90)inches, Kyeikkhame (6.22)inches, Patheingyi (5.68)inches, Mudon (5.16) inches, Belin (4.57)inches, Kyeikmayaw (4.14)inches, Myitkyina (3.98)inches, Mindat (3.15)inch, Kawthaung (3.03)inch, Thaton (2.83)inch, Mandalay and Hpa-an (2.72) inches each.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 11thAUGUST, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw and Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-10)feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (5 -7)feet in off and along Rakhine Coasts.
