SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Taninthayi Region, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region, Shan and Mon States, isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, Rakhine and Kayin States with isolated heavy falls in Mandalay Region and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (3°C) above May average temperature in Kayah State and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (42°C) in Chauk and (41°C) in Myingyan. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Moekok (3.07)inches, Kyaukmae (2.09) inches, Mawlaik (1.26)inches, Pathein and Tamu (1.18) inches each, Kalaywa (1.14)inches, Kawthong (1.06)inches and Myaungmya (0.94)inch.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate in the Andaman Sea, South Bay and East Central Bay and weather is partly cloudy elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 29th May, 2015: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region, fairly widespread in Kayin and Mon States, scattered in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, Shan and Rakhine States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).
