SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kayah, Rakhine, Eastern Shan States. Rain or thundershower have been widespread in Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Mon, Southern Shan States, fairly widespread in Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing Regions and Kayin, Northern Shan States, scattered in Lower Sagaing Region and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region. Day temperatures were 2°C above April average temperature in Kachin State, 2°C below April average temperatures in Bago, Magway, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah, Mon States, 3°C to 4°C below April average temperatures in Yangon, Mandalay, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayin State and about April average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 40.2°C in Chauk, 39.9°C in Aunglan, 39.4°C in Pyay, 38.8°C in Kawkareik, 38.6°C in Magway, 38.5°C in Taungdwingyi, 37.8°C each in Tharrawady, Wettigan(Laydatpyin) and Myinmu and 37.8°C in Sinpyugyun on 17-4-2025. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.33 inches in Maubin, 1.65 inches in Zalun, 1.26 inches in Phyu, 1.22 inches in Putao, 1.21 inches in Ngapudaw, 0.86 inch in Kyaiklat, 0.79 inch in Kyonpyaw, 0.71 inch in Yangon(Mingaladon), 0.67 inch in Myaungmya and 0.63 inch each in Mawlaik, Mingin and Hainggyingyun.
BAYINFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and a few cloud elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 19th April 2025: Rain or thundershower will be wispread in Taninthayi Region and Kachin, Kayin, Mon States, fairly widespread in Yangon, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Chin State, scattered in Bago Region and Kayah, Shan States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is 80%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-7 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Rain or thundershower will be fairly widespread to widespread in Yangon, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Shan States.
