9-1-2026: According to the observations at 17:30 hrs MST today, the Deep Depression over the Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved Northwestwards. It is centered at about 835 Nautical miles Southwest of Coco-Island (Myanmar), 115 Nautical miles East-Southeast of Trincomalee (Sri Lanka) and 340 Nautical miles Southeast of Puducherry(Sri Lanka). It is likely to move Northwestwards and may cross North Sri Lanka coast between Trincomalee and Jaffna during next 18 hours.Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea, North Bay and Eastcentral Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, a low pressure area has formed over the North Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh and West Bengal(India).

Due to the low pressure area and the cloud moving from the India, rain or thundershowers are likely to be fairly widespread to widespread in Sagaing Region and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine States with likelihood of regionally and isolated heavyfalls and strong wind from today noon to 5-10-2024.

 People should be awared the natural disasters such as the heavy rainfall with strong wind, thunder, Lightning strike, lightning, hails, flash flood and landslide in the hilly areas and near small rivers and inland water transport and domestic flight.
