25-11-2024: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the well marked low pressure area over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining East Equatorial Indian Ocean has moved West-Northwestwards and now lies over South Bay of Bengal.  It is likely continue to move West-Northwestwards and may further intensify into a depression during next 12 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move Northwestwards and may reach to Tamil Nadu (India)-Sri Lanka coasts during next 2 days. Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

Late Monsoon Period

Late monsoon period is a period of starting from 1st September to the date of Monsoon withdrawal from the whole country.

Withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon

Southwest monsoon is likely to withdrawal in:

• Northern Myanmar Areas during (15-20) September

• Central Myanmar Areas during  (21-26) September

• Deltaic Areas during (27) September to (2) October

• Southern Myanmar Areas during (3 – 8) October

Bay of Bengal Condition

Three low pressure areas may form over the Bay of  Bengal and two may further intensify into the Depressions. Monsoon will be weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Rain Conditions

Rain will be expected above normal in Taninthayi Region, below normal in Upper Sagaing Regions and Kachin State and about normal in Nay Pyi Taw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.
