SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Northern Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.34 inches in Gwa, 3.70 inches in Sittwe, 3.35 inches in Kyonpyaw, 3.03 inches in Ngathaichaung, 2.59 inches in Tharrawady, 2.45 inches each in Ngapudaw and Myaungmya, 2.40 inches in Danubyu, 2.36 inches in Kungyangon and 2.20 inches in Zalun.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and moderate to strong over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 26th August 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing Region and Northern Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region and Rakhine State. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 mph. Wave height will be about (7-9) feet off and along Rakhine Coast. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (6-8) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Shan State.
