27-11-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northwestwards. It is centered at about 730 Nautical miles West-Southwest of CoCo Island (Myanmar), 270 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Chennai (India). The centre pressure of Deep Depression is 1001 hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is 35 miles per hour.Weather is partly cloudy over the North Bay of Bengal and cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Eastern Shan State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, Magway Region and Northern Shan, Kayah States, scattered in Mandalay Region and Kachin State, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Bago Regions and Kayin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Taninthayi Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 8.16 inches in Kyeikkhame, 5.51 inches in Chaungsone, 4.72 inches in Paung, 4.22 inches in Ye, 3.15 inches in Bago, 3.11 inches in Dawei, 3.03 inches in Tamu, 2.96 inches in Kawthaung, 2.80 inches in Kungyangon and 2.67 inches in Mudon.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 23rdJune 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Naypyitaw, Magway Region and Kayah State, scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and (Northern and Eastern)Shan State, and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Mon State. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and (Northern and Eastern)Shan State.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 - 40 mph. Wave height will be about 9 - 11 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 6 - 8 feet in off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:  Continuations of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States.
