25-12-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal(off South Andhra Pradesh-North Tamil Nadu Coasts, India) still persists. It is likely to weaken gradually into a Low Pressure Area during next 24 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the Eastcentral and Southeast Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: Rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Mandalay, Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and (Northern and Eastern)Shan, Rakhine, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Kachin State and isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Mon State. Day temperatures were 5°C above May average temperature in Taninthayi Region and 2°C below May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin States, 3°C to 4°C below May average temperatures in Southern Shan, Chin States, 5°C below May average temperature in Upper Sagaing Region and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were observed 37.5°C in Kawthaung, 36.8°C in Kyaukse(Lunkyaw), 36.5°C in Myeik, 36.2°C in Myingyan, 36.0°C each in Mandalay, Nyaung Oo and Pakokku, 35.6°C in Zaung Tu, 35.5°C in Myinmu and 35.2°C in Tada U(Aviation-Met) on 28-5-2024. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 9.96 inches in Hkamti, 4.33 inches in Paung, 3.54 inches in Putao, 3.19 inches in Machanbaw, 2.56 inches in Mudon, 2.41 inches each in Naypyitaw(Zayarthiri) and Kyeikkhame, 2.36 inches in Pinlaung, 2.27 inches in Kyeikmayaw and 1.98 inches in Pyinmana.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy over the Northwest and Westcentral Bay of Bengal and monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 30th May 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Eastern Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing Region and (Northern and Southern)Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Sagaing, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) mph. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of advancement of Southwest monsoon into the Northern Myanmar Areas.
