BAY INFERENCE: Weather is a few cloud to partly cloudy over the North Bay and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal and cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 21st May 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region and (Northern and Southern) Shan, Mon States, fairly widespread in Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Kachin, Kayin States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon Regions and Eastern Shan, Chin States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is 80%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Mandalay, Bago, Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (6-9) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (5-8) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of advancement of Southwest monsoon into the Southern Myanmar areas.
