17-12-2024: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over Southwest Bay of Bengal has further intensified into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area. It is likely to move Northwestwards and reach to North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts, India during next 24 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move nearly Northwards and move along Andhra Pradesh Coast during 48 hours. Weather is generally fair over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Bay of Bengal Condition

A low pressure area may form over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining South Andaman Sea and it may further intensify into a depression. Weather will be a few cloud to partly cloudy over the North Bay of Bengal and the partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

Rain condition and Rainy Day

Rain or thundershowers will be below normal in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Northern and Southern Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah States and about normal in Taninthayi Region and Kachin, Eastern Shan, Kayin, Mon States.

Rainy days are expected about 6 to 9 days in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Eastern Shan, Kayin, Mon States and about 2 to 5 days Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Northern and Southern Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah States.

Day Temperature will be 1.5°C above normal of May average Temperatures in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Southern Shan, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States and about normal of May average Temperatures in Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Northern and Eastern Shan, Chin States.
