SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Naypyitaw, Eastern Shan and Kayah States, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Bago and Taninthayi Regions and Kayin State, scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway andYangon Regions, Southern Shan, Rakhine and Mon States and widespread in Upper Sagaing, and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, Nothern Shan and Chin States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Myitkyina (2.48)inches, Kalaywa (2.13)inches, Taungkok (1.77)inches, Hkamti and Hainggyigyun (1.65) inches each, Mawlaik (1.46)inches and Mogaung(1.34)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is cloudy over the North Bay and Westcentral Bay and partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 22nd OCTOBER, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions and Eastern Shan State, scattered in Bago and Taninthayi Regions, Southern Shan, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States, fairly widespread in Yangon Region and Northern Shan State and widespread in Upper Sagaing and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin and Chin States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin and Chin States. Degree of certainly is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8 - 10)feet in along Rakhine Coast and about (4 - 7)feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State.
