SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hrs, weather have been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region and Eastern Shan State, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay Region, scattered in Naypyitaw, Magway Region, Northern Shan and Rakhine States, fairly widespread in Kachin, Southern Shan and Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Mon State, isolated heavy falls in Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayin State. Day temperatures were (2°C) above May average temperatures in Kachin and Chin States, (3°C) to (4°C) above May average temperatures in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States, (3°C) below May average temperature in Mandalay Region, (2°C) below May average temperatures in Lower Sagaing Region and Eastern Shan State. The significant day temperature were (41°C) in Aunglan, (40°C) each in Taungdwingyi, Ann and Bawlakhae. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Haigyikyun (6.65)inches, Thaton (5.16)inches, Mawlamyine (4.96)inches, Kyarinseikgyi (4.32)inches, Madauk (3.78)inches, Paung (2.91)inches, Mawlaik (2.64)inches, Shwegyin (2.17)inches, Kyaukmae and Myeik (2.13) inches each and Pyay and Labutta (2.04)inches each.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure over Southeast Bay and adjoining Central Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to further intensify into a depression during next (24)hrs. Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay of Bengal. Weather is cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 28th May, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Eastern Shan State, scattered in Mandalay Region, (Southern & Northern ) Shan and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, Kachin and Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Bago,Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions , Rakhine and Mon States. Degree of certainly is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with moderate to rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine State.
