SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, Southwest monsoon has been withdrawn from Northern Myanmar area.Weather has been partly cloudy in Kayah State, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Upper Sagaing Region and (Eastern & Southern)Shan States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Magway and Bago Regions, Kachin, Northern Shan and Chin States, fairly widespread in Mandalay and Ayeyarwady Regions, Mon State and widespread in Yangon and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine and Kayin States with regionally heavy falls in Mandalay and Bago Regions. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Shwegyin (3.51)inches, Madauk (3.46)inches, Kawthaung (1.93)inches, Mingaladon (1.89)inches, Pyawbwe (1.77)inches, Dawei (1.57)inches and Ngazun and Hpa-an (1.54)inches each.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 25th September, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Shan and Kayah States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Sagaing and Magway Regions, Kachin and Chin States, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Bago and Yangon Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and widespread in Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Taninthayi Region. Degree of certainly is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7-9)feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and (4-7)feet in along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Mon State.
