SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Magway Region, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine State, scattered in Mandalay Region, Kachin, Northern Shan, Kayah and Kayin States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region, (Southern and Eastern) Shan, Chin and Mon States, widespread in the remaining Regions and States and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw. Day temperatures were (5°C) above May average temperatures in Bago Region, Kayin and Mon States, (3°C) to (4°C) above May average temperatures in Mandalay, Magway, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Southern Shan and Rakhine States, (2°C) above May average temperature in Kayah State, (4°C) below May average temperature in Northern Shan State and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (44°C) in Chauk and (42°C) in Aunglan. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Naypyitaw (Otarathiri) (2.83)inches, Shwegwin (2.40)inches, Pinlaung and Dawei (1.73)inches each, Kawthaung (1.49)inches, Naypyitaw (Zabuthiri) (1.46)inches, Thaton (1.42)inches, Hlaingbwe (1.18)inches and Naypyitaw (Zayarthiri) (0.98)inch.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is a few cloud to partly cloudy over the North Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 23rd MAY, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady  Regions, Kachin, Shan, Chin, Kayin and Mon States, scattered in Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions,  Kayah States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Seas will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (3- 7) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Southern Myanmar areas.
