SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain have been widespread in Naypyitaw and Eastern Shan State, scattered in Bago and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Southern Shan and Kayah States, isolated in Magway and Ayeyarwady Regions and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperature were (7°C) to (8°C) above January average temperatures in Bago Region, (Eastern and Southern)Shan, Kayah States, (5°C) to (6°C) above January average temperatures in Ayeyarwady Region, Kayin and Mon States, (3°C) to (4°C) above January average temperatures in Mandalay and Yangon Regions, Rakhine State, (2°C) above January average temperatures in Magway and Taninthayi Regions and about January average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (-2°C) in Hakha, (4°C) in Tongzan, (5°C) each in Falam and Tiddim, (6°C) each in Thipaw and Mogoke. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Pinlaung (1.30)inches, Launglone (0.43)inch, Pyay (0.24)inch and Pyinmana (0.19)inch.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30) hrs MST today, the low pressure area over Southeast Bay of Bengal moved to Southwest Bay and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal still persists. Weather is generally fair over the North Bay and Westcentral Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 9th JANUARY, 2018: Rain will be scattered in Naypyitaw, Bago Region, (Eastern and Southern)Shan, Kayah States, isolated in Taninthayi Region, Kachin, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainly is (80%). Weather will be partly cloudy in Mandalay, Magway, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Northern Shan and Rakhine States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Seas will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (3 - 5) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
