SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, Southwest monsoon has advanced into the East Central Bay and Deltaic areas. Weather has been partly cloudy in Naypyitaw, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Magway Region, scattered in Mandalay Region and Rakhine State, fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region, (Northern and Eastern) Shan and Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Mandalay, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Mon State. Day temperatures were (3°C) above May average temperatures in  Mandalay Region and Rakhine State, (2°C) above May average temperature in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, Southern Shan and Kayah States and (2°C) below May average temperature in Yangon Region and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (42°C) in Chauk, (41°C) each in Myingyan and Pauk. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Yay (5.90) inches, Thaton (5.39)inches, Paung (5.00)inches, Khayan (4.44)inches, Hainggyigyun and Belin (4.37)inches each, Maubin (3.42)inches, Theinzayet and  Yangon (North Dagon) (3.31)inches each, Chaungsone (3.27)inches, Phyarpon (3.03)inches, Gwa (2.83)inches, Shan-Ywar-Thit (2.81)inches, Central Yangon (2.64)inches, Kalay (2.56)inches, Mawlamyine (2.40)inches, Hpa-an (2.24)inches, Hinthada and Kyeikkhame (2.21)inches each and Tagaung (2.07)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over the East Central Bay of Bengal still persists. It is further intensify into a depression during next (24)hrs. Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea, South Bay and East Central Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 29th MAY, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions and fairly widespread in Magway and Taninthayi Regions, Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Naypyitaw, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine State, isolated heavy falls in Mandalay Region and Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (8 - 14)feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of advancement of Southwest monsoon in to the Central Myanmar areas.
