5-2-2025: Weather is generally fair over the Eastcentral Bay, partly cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay and a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, (Northern and Eastern) Shan State, scattered in Mandalay and Magway Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Bago Region, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing and Yangon Regions and Kachin State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Kamamaung (7.82)inches, Belin (7.48)inches, Shan-Ywar-Thit (4.63)inches, Myauk U (3.90)inches, Chaungsone (3.74)inches, Nyaunglaybin (3.39)inches, Monyin and Khayan (3.35)inches each, Ann and Theinzayet (3.31)inches each, Shwekyin (3.27)inches, Taunggu and Kawkareik (3.20)inches each, Homalin (3.07)inches, Hpa-an (3.03)inches and Sittwe (3.00)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at (11:30) MST today, the tropical depression over the South China Sea (Gulf of Tonkin) weaken into low pressure area.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 24th JULY, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be  scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, fairly widespread in (Northern and Eastern) Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing, Bago and Yangon Regions, Kachin and Chin States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (7 -10)feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Kachin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 24th JULY, 2018: One or two rain or thundershowers.  Degree of certainty is (100%).
