SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Sagaing Region, rain have been isolated in Mandalay and Magway Regions, (Northern and Eastern) Shan and Chin States, scattered in Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, Southern Shan State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw and Yangon Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Taninthayi Region and Mon State and isolated heavy falls in Rakhine and Kayin States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Yay (7.25)inches, Launglon (5.67)inches, Dawei (3.54) inches, Mawlamyine and Kawthaung (3.47)inches each, Gwa (3.42)inches, Myeik (3.38)inches, Payathonsu (3.00)inches, Mudon (2.68)inches, Kya-In-Seikkyi (2.34)inches, Belin (2.09)inches and Paung (2.01)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 19th JUNE, 2018: Rain will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Chin State, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and Shan State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago Region, Kachin and Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Taninthayi Region and Mon State and isolated heavy falls in Ayeyarwady Region, Rakhine and Kayin States. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough sea are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (9 - 12) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama and off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (4 - 7) feet in off and along Rakhine Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States.
