SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Chin and Rakhine States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (5°C) to (6°C) below December average temperatures in Yangon Region, (Northern and Eastern)Shan, Kayah and Kayin States, (3°C) to (4°C) below December average temperatures in Mandalay, Bago, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Southern Shan State, (2°C) below December average temperatures in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, Mon State and about December average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (-2°C) in Namsam, (1°C) in Loilin, (2°C) each in Thipaw, Pinlaung and Heho, (3°C) in Kengtung, (4°C) each in Lashio, Kyaukmae, Pyinoolwin, Moegoke and Loikaw.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy over the South Bay and a few cloud over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs MST today, the tropical depression “Kai-tak” over the South China Sea has moved to near Malaysia and weakened into a low pressure.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 23rd DECEMBER, 2017: Weather will be partly cloudy in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Chin, Kayin and Mon States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Seas will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (4-6) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated rain in Taninthayi Region.
