SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been generally fair in Mandalay, Bago, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Chin, Rakhine States and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were 2°C below January average temperatures in Taninthayi Region and Chin, Rakhine States and 2°C above January average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah, (Northern and Southern)Shan States and about January average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were 0.0°C in Hakha, 2.3°C in Namsan (Southern Shan), 4.9°C in Putao, 5.0°C in Tiddim, 5.3°C in Pyinoolwin, 5.4°C in Heho, 7.0°C in Loilin, 7.8°C in Myitkyina, 8.5°C in Machanbaw and 8.6°C in Nyaung Shwe.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is a few cloud over the North Bay and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 13thJanuary 2025: Light rain are likely to be isolated in Taninthayi Region. Degree of certainty is 60%. Weather will be generally fair in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Bago, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine State and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Strong winds with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in strong winds may reach 30-35 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 6-9 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts.
