BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (06:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over the Andaman Sea has slightly moved North-Northeast, it is forecast to reach Gulf of Mottama and adjoining Deltaic area during next (48) hours. It is likely to further intensify into a depression. Weather is cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and partly cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 01st MAY, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Shan, Kayin and Mon States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions and Chin States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7 - 9)feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and (4 - 6)feet in along Rakhine coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Deltaic and Southern areas.
