SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Taninthayi Region, fairly widespread in Mandalay and Bago Regions, Kachin and Kayah States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Yangon Region, Southern Shan and Mon States, isolated in Lower Sagaing, Magway and Ayeyarwady Regions, (Eastern and Northern) Shan and Kayin States and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (2°C) above April average temperatures in Kachin, Rakhine and Mon States, (2°C) below April average temperature in Eastern Shan State, (3°C) below April average temperature in Southern Shan State and about April average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (43°C) in Chauk, (40°C) each in Kyemone, Myinmu, Nyaung Oo, Minbu, Magway, Aunglan, Pauk, Sinpyygyun, Ann, Nyaunglaybin, Phyu and Hinthada. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Nyaunglaybin (1.77)inches, Launglon (1.22)inches, Heho (0.98)inch, Yay (0.83)inch, Dawei (0.78)inch, Meikhtila, Yangon (Kaba –aye) and Kawkareik (0.59)inch each, Naypyitaw (Zayarthiri) (0.55)inch, Naypyitaw (Pobbathiri) (0.51)inch each.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs MST today, a low pressure area may form over the South Andaman Sea during next (24)hrs. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and a few cloud elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 29thAPRIL, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region, farily widespread in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region, Shan State and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7 - 9)feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and (4 - 6)feet elsewhere in Myanmar waters.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of rain or thundershowers will be scattered to fairly widespread in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Shan, Kayin and Mon States.
