SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Upper Sagaing Region. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing Region and Kachin, Chin, Kayah States, scattered in Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Magway Region and Rakhine, Kayin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States and regionally heavyfalls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Magway, Bago Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 5.40 inches in Bogale, 5.12 inches in Hmawbi, 4.45 inches in Yangon(Mingaladon), 4.33 inches in Gyobingauk, 4.29 inches in Yangon(Mayangone), 4.17 inches each in Yangon(Botahtaung) and Mawlamyinekyun, 4.13 inches in Kungyangon, 3.90 inches in Kyonpyaw and 3.74 inches in Okkan.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over Eastcentral Bay and adjoining North Andaman Sea still persists. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and may intensify into a Depression around 22-10-2024 and into a Cyclonic storm over Eastcentral Bay around 23-10-2024 and may reach to Northwest Bay and (off Odisha-West Bengal Coasts ,India). Weather is cloudy over the Andaman Sea, Eastcentral Bay and Southwest Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 22nd October 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State, scattered in Lower Sagaing Region and Northern Shan, Chin, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Eastern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine State. THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine State. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Occassional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 40-45 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 9-13 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Fairly widespread to widespread rain or thundershowers with likelihood of regionally and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Chin, Rakhine States.
