SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Yangon Region and (Northern and Eastern) Shan, Chin, Kayah States. Rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Taninthayi Region and Southern Shan State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, scattered in Mandalay, Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 2.36 inches in Myeik, 2.17 inches in Phyu, 1.77 inches in Tamu, 1.45 inches in Okpho, 1.06 inches in Letpandan, 0.98 inch each in Naypyitaw(Zayarthiri) and Kawkareik, 0.83 inch in Thazi (Hlaingtat), 0.79 inch in Meiktila and 0.63 inch in Machanbaw.

 BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and a few cloud elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 19th October 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region, fairly widespread in Southern Shan State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayin States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Sagaing, Mandalay and Taninthayi Regions. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Fairly widespread to widespread rain or thundershowers in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.

WEATHER OUTLOOK FOR WEEKEND: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw and Mandalay Region and fairly widespread in Yangon Region.
