21-12-2024: According to the observations at (03:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over the Westcentral Bay and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal further intensified into a Depression and reached over Westcentral Bay of Bengal(off Andhra Pradesh coast). It is centered at about 565 Nautical miles West of Coco Island (Myanmar), 230 Nautical miles South of Visakhapatnam(India). The centre pressure of Depression is (1003) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (30-35) miles per hour. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Chin, Rakhine States. Rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Lower Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions, fairly widespread in Mandalay Region and Kachin, (Southern and Eastern)Shan States, scattered in Upper Sagaing, Yangon Regions and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 1.34 inches in Myingyan, 0.87 inch in Yebyu, 0.83 inch in Thayetchaung, 0.79 inch in Myeik, 0.76 inch in Palaw, 0.72 inch each in Myittha and Wundwin, 0.71 inch in Maubin, 0.67 inch in Dawei and 0.63 inch each in Naypyitaw(Zayarthiri) and Kyaukhtu.

 BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over Southwest Bay has moved West-Northwestwards now lies over the Southwest Bay and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal. It is centered at about 615 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island (Myanmar), 165 Nautical miles East-Southeast of Chennai (India). Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea, North Bay and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 17th October 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region, fairly widespread in Kachin, (Southern and Eastern)Shan States, scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Northern Shan, Kayin, Mon States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Mandalay Region and (Southern and Eastern) Shan State. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-7 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of fairly widespread rain or thundershowers in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States.
