20-12-2024: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over the Westcentral Bay and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move Northwestwards and further intensify into a Depression over Westcentral Bay of Bengal during next 12 hours and it is likely to move North-Northeastwards during 36 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan, Chin, Kayah, Kayin States. Rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Taninthayi Region and Southern Shan State, fairly widespread in Ayeyarwady Region and Eastern Shan State, scattered in Mon State and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Magway Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 1.50 inches in Saw, 1.35 inches in Kyaukhtu, 1.10 inches in Myeik, 1.08 inches in Thabaung, 0.71 inch in Minhla, 0.47 inch in Kengtung, 0.43 inch in Pathein, 0.39 inch each in Pyay and Taunggu and 0.35 inch each in Pinlaung and Loilin.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30) hrs M.S.T today, the well marked low pressure area over South Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and may further intensify into a depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal during next 24 hours and may reach to North Tamil Nadu and adjoining South Andhra Pradesh coasts, India during next 48 hours. Southwest monsoon has been withdrawn from the whole country. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea, South Bay and Westcentral Bay of Bengal and a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 16th October 2024: Weather will be partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region and Chin, Rakhine, Kayah States. Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and (Southern and Eastern)Shan State, scattered in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Mon State and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin State. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-7 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of scattered to fairly widespread rain or thundershowers in Taninthayi Region and (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Kayin, Mon States.
