18-12-2024: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move Northwestwards and reach to North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts, India during next 24 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move nearly Northwards and move along Andhra Pradesh Coast during 48 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in (Northern and Eastern)Shan, Chin, Rakhin, Kayah States. Rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Taninthayi Region and Southern Shan, Mon States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Magway, Bago, Yangon Regions and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 2.60 inches in Chaungsone, 2.05 inches in Myeik, 1.65 inches in Mudon, 1.50 inches in Ye, 1.46 inches in Loilin, 1.10 inches in Khayan, 1.06 inches in Mawlamyine, 1.02 inches in Kyeikkhame, 0.91 inch in Dawei and 0.83 inch in Naypyitaw(Zabuthiri).

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over Southeast Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and further intensify into well marked low pressure area around 15-10-2024 and continue to move West-Northwestwards  and may reach to North Tamil Nadu and adjoining South Andhra Pradesh coasts, India around 17-10-2024. Weather is a few cloud over the Northeast Bay and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is weak over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 15th October 2024: Weather will be partly cloudy in Chin State. Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region, fairly widespread in Southern Shan, Mon States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Eastern Shan, Kayin States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Magway, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Southern Shan, Rakhine States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-7 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Weak monsoon over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay of Bengal.
