SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kachin State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing Region and Northern Shan State, scattered in Kayah State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Magway, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Mon State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 11.02 inches in Hainggyigyun, 4.76 inches in Labutta, 4.49 inches in Taungdwingyi, 3.43 inches each in Yangon(Mingaladon), Hlegu and Thaton, 2.79 inches in Bago, 2.70 inches in Pantanaw, 2.68 inches in Dawei, 2.64 inches in Kyeikmayaw and 2.59 inches in Khayan.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at (12:30)hrs MST today, the Low Pressure Cell over the Eastcentral Bay of Bengal has moved Westwards and reached over Central Bay and it still persists. It is likely continue to move Westwards and may further intensify into a Low Pressure Area over the Westcentral Bay of Bengal during next (24)hrs.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 24th September 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing Region and Northern Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Magway, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Regions and Kachin, Rakhine, Kayah, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 9-12 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
