25-11-2024:According to the observations at (17:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over South Bay of Bengal has moved West-Northwestwards and reached over the Southwest Bay of Bengal. It is centered at about 750 Nautical miles Southwest of Coco Island (Myanmar) and 540 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Chennai(India). Weather is cloudy over the Andaman Sea, South Bay and Westcentral Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at (15:30)hrs MST today, the Low Pressure Cell over the inland area of Thailand, Kayin, Mon, and Kayah States (Myanmar) still persists. The Low Pressure Cell and remnants of clouds is likely to move Westwards and cross to Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions (Myanmar) and North Andaman Sea during next 24 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to continue to move Westwards and may intensify into a Low Pressure Area over the Central Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 22nd September 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing Region and Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, Eastern Shan, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine, Kayah States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady,Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Shan, Kayin, Mon States.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Naypyitaw, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.
