SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in (Northern and Eastern)Shan State. Rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Lower Sagaing Region and Kachin, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago Regions and and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Magway, Taninthayi Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.00 inches in Bokpyin, 2.94 inches in Pulaw, 2.56 inches in Thayetchaung, 1.95 inches in kyunsu, 1.77 inches in Dawei, 1.73 inches in Thazi(Hlaingtat), 1.53 inches in Maubin, 1.50 inches each in Saw, Paing Kyone, 1.45 inches in Hmawbi and 1.42 inches in Belin.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at (12:30)hrs MST today, the Low Pressure Cell over the inland area of Thailand, Kayin, Mon, and Kayah States (Myanmar) still persists. The Low Pressure Cell and remnants of clouds is likely to move Westwards and cross to Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions (Myanmar) and North Andaman Sea during next 24 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to continue to move Westwards and may intensify into a Low Pressure Area over the Central Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 22nd September 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing Region and Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, Eastern Shan, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine, Kayah States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States.
STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet off and along Rakhine Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Naypyitaw, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.
