SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Rakhine, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Southern Shan, Kayin states. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 9.88 inches in Kyaukpyu, 9.33 inches in Pakokku, 9.05 inches in Hpa-an, 8.51 inches in Nyaung Oo, 6.06 inches in Ann, 6.00 inches in Kyaukpadaung, 5.97 inches in Pyawbwe, 5.63 inches in Meiktila, 5.10 inches in Paing Kyone, 4.96 inches in Nyaung Oo(Avia-Met) and 4.72 inches in Chauk.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and vigorous elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (13:30) hrs MST today, the wind wave over Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Chin, Rakhine States has still persists. It is likely to continue to move slowly West-Northwestwards and may reach Bangladesh Coast and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal during next 24 hours.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 13th September 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwaddy, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin Mon States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Chin, Rakhine States and isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Southern Shan State. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Southern Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Mon States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 40-45 mph. Wave height will be about 9-11 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 mph. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuations of increase of rain in Chin, Rakhine States.
