26-11-2024:According to the observations at (05:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved Northwestwards. It is centered at about 790 Nautical miles Southwest of Coco Island (Myanmar) and 480 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Chennai(India). Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy  over the North Andaman Sea.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing Region and Chin State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and Southern Shan, Rakhine, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Magway, Ayeyarwady Regions and Mon State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 7.20 inches in Paung, 3.03 inches in Maubin, 2.95 inches in Wakema, 2.83 inches in Kyeikkhame, 2.79 inches in Coco Island, 2.45 inches in Yangon(Botahtaung), 2.40 inches in Paing Kyone, 2.33 inches in Dawei, 2.24 inches in Mudon and 2.12 inches in Mawlamyine.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over the Central and adjoining North Bay of Bengal has moved nearly Northwards and further intensified into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area over the Northwest and adjoining Central Bay of Bengal. It is likely to continue to move Nearly Northwards and may further intensify into a Depression over the Northwest Bay of Bengal (off North Odisha- Gangetic West Bengal Coast, India) on 8-9-2024. Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs MST today, the Typhoon “Yagi” over Gulf of Tonkin moved West-Northwestwards and is crossing over Quang Ninh, Vietnam. It is likely to move Westwards and downgrade into a Severe Tropical “Yagi” Storm during next 12 hours.

  FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 8th September 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Sagaing Region and Kachin, Chin States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Northern Shan, Rakhine, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon State. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayin, Mon State.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occassional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 40 mph. Wave height will be about 9 - 12 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:  Increase of rain in the whole country.
