26-11-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northwestwards. It is centered at about 770 Nautical miles Southwest of CoCo Island (Myanmar), 405 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Chennai (India). Weather is cloudy over the Andaman Sea, South Bay and Central Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the North Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Magway, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Naypyitaw and isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing, Magway, Bago Regions and Rakhine State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.88 inches in Naypyitaw(Ottarathiri), 4.33 inches in Naypyitaw(Pobbathiri), 3.78 inches in Mawlaik, 3.74 inches in Naypyitaw(Zayarthiri), 3.43 inches in Kyaukpyu, 3.07 inches in Madauk, 2.76 inches in Pinlaung, 2.13 inches in Shwekyin, 2.09 inches in Belin and 2.05 inches each in Tatkon and Naypyitaw(Zabuthiri).

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and moderate to strong over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 25th August 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing  Region and Kachin, Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Rakhine State. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar Waters. Wave height will be about 6-8 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Moderate monsoon over the Bay of Bengal.
