BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over South Bangladesh still persists. It is likely to move slowly north-northwestwards and may further intensify into a Well marked low pressure area over Bangladesh and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal, during next (12) hrs. Thereafter, it is likely to move west-northwestwards and may cross Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand, India. Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 19th August 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Taninthayi Region and Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and isolated heavyfalls in Rakhine State. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Magway, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Rakhine States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar Waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Eastern Shan, Kayin, Mon States.
