27-11-2024: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved Northwards. It is centered at about 745 Nautical miles Southwest of CoCo Island (Myanmar), 355 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Chennai (India). Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea, South Bay and Central Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and North Bay of Bengal.

BAY INFERENCE:  Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate to strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 3rd August 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin,Rakhine State. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Rakhine States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 mph. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.  Wave height will be about 6-8 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Moderate monsoon.
