30-11-2024: According to the observations at (15:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL” over Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved West-Northwestwards. It is centered at about 755 Nautical miles West of Coco Island (Myanmar), 50 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Chennai and 55 Nautical miles East-Northeast of Puducherry (India). Weather is cloudy over the Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea.

BAY INFERENCE:  Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL NOON OF THE 2nd August 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Magway Region and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Southern Shan, Chin, States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Eastern Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Moderate to strong monsoon.
