8-9-2024:: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over the Northwest and adjoining Central Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move nearly Northwards and may further intensify into a Depression over the Northwest Bay of Bengal (off North Odisha- Gangetic West Bengal Coast, India) during next 24 hours.Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Northern Shan State, scattered in Magway Region and Eastern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Yangon Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 11.06 inches in Shan-Ywar-Thit, 9.39 inches in Kamamaung, 8.11 inches in Hpa-an, 7.60 inches in Manaung, 6.34 inches Kyaukpyu, 5.78 inches in Shwekyin,  5.51 inches each in Gwa and Wakema, 5.48 inches in Ann,  5.24 inches in Madauk, 5.20 inches in Belin and 5.12 inches in Thaton.

BAY INFERENCE:  According to the observations at (13:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over the Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining North Odisha, India has weaken into a Low Pressure Area. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and weaken gradually. Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 28th July 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions, scattered in Magway Region, fairly widespread in (Northern and Eastern)Shan, Kayah states and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 40 mph. Wave height will be about 9-12 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Shan, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.
